A Florida church will be the site of an LGBT youth event featuring a drag show and "forbidden queer literature."
Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network Collier will host the inaugural Youth Pride Conference on May 21 at Naples United Church of Christ "for LGBTQ youth seeking to explore LGBTQ-related issues they face today," according to the event's information page.
The event, intended for children age 12 to 18, will offer attendees free meals and "a drag show from some of our local drag queens," the organization said.

"This one-day conference is created by and for LGBTQ youth seeking to explore LGBTQ-related issues they face today," the event page continued.
Attendees will be able to choose from a variety of breakout sessions including those related to mental health, gender and biology, sexuality and science, and "forbidden queer literature."
"There will also be a panel discussion with former high school students talking about life in the LGBTQ community after high school," the page detailed.

The one-day event will take place on May 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is free to all students who wish to attend.
