An Ohio warehouse was left in ruins after going up in flames Monday, with thousands of dollars worth of toys destroyed as a result of the fire weeks before Christmas.

The warehouse, used by the U.S. Marine Corps's Toys for Tots Foundation, saw roughly $8,000 worth of toys destroyed as a result of the fire, according to Fox 8 News. As of early Tuesday, small flames were still coming from the ruins.

Robert Stratton, a Marine veteran, said the fire "just slows" things down "a little bit."

"We will be back in action tomorrow," Stratton said.

Stratton said that after hearing a noise outside of his office, he went to search and found that the roof of the warehouse was in flames.

The Toys for Tots Foundation shared posts on Facebook and Twitter calling for residents of Tuscarawas County, "Toys for Tots supporters, and 'secret Santas'" to help their local Toys for Tots.

"The local Toys for Tots campaign has lost all of their toy donations to a fire — please help them replenish their toy supply!"
