Making a scene on a plane could lead to waiting in long lines at the airport.

Airplane passengers who make a scene may face additional consequences thanks to a new partnership between the Federal Aviation Administration and Transportation Security Administration.

"If you act out of line, you will wait in line," FAA Administrator Steve Dickson said in a press release. "Our partnership aims to promote safe and responsible passenger behavior. One unruly incident is one too many."

The FAA will share information about passengers facing fines for unruly behavior with the TSA. This will allow the security officers to remove passengers from TSA PreCheck screening eligibility because it is a "privilege reserved for low-risk passengers."

This data sharing will also allow TSA agents to inform passengers of any penalties they may have earned while flying.

"TSA has zero tolerance for the unruly behaviors, especially those involving physical assault occurring aboard aircraft. We have tremendous respect for airport staff, gate agents, and flight crews that get people safely to their destinations," said TSA Administrator David Pekoske in a press release. "This partnership with FAA will help ensure the safety and security of all passengers and hold those who violate federal regulations accountable for their actions."

Last week, the TSA reported that it had confiscated a record number of firearms in 2021, estimated to be around 5,700 in total.
