Two deputies in Key West, Florida, were arrested and suspended after getting into a tussle with Navy sailors.

"I am saddened by this incident, and it will be fully investigated," said Sheriff Rick Ramsay, the deputies' boss.

Monroe County deputies Connor Curry, 23, and Trevor Pike, 25, are charged with disorderly conduct, according to prison records. Pike is also facing a charge of battery.

The pair of deputies, who were off-duty at the time, got into a fight with several Navy sailors Saturday morning, police report. The incident reportedly included several men "grabbing at, striking and pulling at one another," according to a police report seen by the Miami Herald.

The three sailors — Angel Low, 26; Jose Bejar Jr., 22; and James Black, 27 — were working with a squadron visiting U.S. Naval Air Station Key West. The sailors are also facing charges of disorderly conduct. The deputies and two of the sailors were put in prison. The third sailor, Black, was airlifted from Key West to Miami Hospital, reports the Herald.

Both Curry and Pike are on unpaid leave, pending the criminal investigation, the sheriff's office told CBS 12 News. They are also facing an internal investigation.
