Cher, the Emmy, Oscar, Grammy award-winning artist, and frequent Twitter critic of President Trump is on his side for once.
Cher tweeted Sunday that Los Angeles, where she lives, can’t take anymore undocumented immigrants, in response to Trump's threats to place migrants in sanctuary cities, where local officials have pledged not to cooperate with federal law enforcement.
“I Understand Helping struggling Immigrants, but MY CITY (Los Angeles) ISNT TAKING CARE OF ITS OWN.WHAT ABOUT THE 50,000+Citizens WHO LIVE ON THE STREETS.PPL WHO LIVE BELOW POVERTY LINE,& HUNGRY? If My State Can’t Take Care of Its Own(Many Are VETS)How Can it Take Care Of More,” wrote Cher, whose full name is Cherilyn Sarkisian.

Trump tweeted out confirmation Friday that his administration was considering a plan to move undocumented immigrants into sanctuary cities in an attempt to force Democrats to negotiation on immigration.
“Due to the fact that Democrats are unwilling to change our very dangerous immigration laws, we are indeed, as reported, giving strong considerations to placing Illegal Immigrants in Sanctuary Cities only,” said Trump.

“The Radical Left always seems to have an Open Borders, Open Arms policy – so this should make them very happy,” he added.

Cher has been a long time critic of the president. In 2016 before the election of Trump, she told an audience at one of her shows, "[w]hen I watch Trump I just want to blow my brains out."
In January, Cher tweeted out after Trump’s military transgender ban went into effect, ““no one is really safe in Trump’s America unless they’re [a] member of Mar-a-Lago, live in Trump Tower, white, or wears [a] MAGA hat.”
