Chelsea Clinton on Wednesday pleaded with opponents of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh to spare his daughters from their criticism.

“Please leave Judge Kavanaugh’s daughters alone,” she tweeted Wednesday. “They do not belong in your cartoons, ‘jokes’, or skits. If you can’t make your point about Judge Kavanaugh, whatever it may be, without bullying his kids, it’s not worth making.”

Clinton’s tweet was a response to a Sept. 28 cartoon by Chris Britt that depicted 10-year-old Liza Kavanaugh praying for her father.

“Dear God, forgive my angry, lying, alcoholic father for sexually assaulting Dr. Ford,” the cartoon read.

During his opening statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee last week, Kavanaugh told lawmakers that Liza had said to her mother, “We should pray for the woman” who accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault.

Clinton has not supported Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court, but she has defended other children whose parents are sometimes dragged into the spotlight, including first son Barron Trump.
