Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said there are several reasons to impeach President Trump, despite House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., dismissing such efforts.
“There are so many aspects to this presidency that have posed a grave problem,” the freshman congresswoman told Yahoo News’ “Skullduggery” podcast on Sunday. “You could reach in a bag and pull so many things out that are impeachable of this president. I support impeaching this president.”

Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., said the top issue that she considers impeachable is Trump’s businesses receiving emoluments from foreign countries while the president maintains an interest in his real estate company.
“It’s always been emoluments,” she said. “It’s always been about that for me.”
She listed “tax fraud” and Trump’s reported offer of a pardon to a top immigration official if the official broke the law as other reasons to impeach the president.
Ocasio-Cortez did not originally sign on to an impeachment resolution introduced by Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., last month, though she has been supportive of impeaching Trump. She has also acknowledged that impeachment would be an uphill battle with a Republican-controlled Senate.
“We hadn’t signed on when it was first introduced, but we probably will,” Ocasio-Cortez said of the resolution. “We’ll take a look into it.”
In March, Pelosi said she is not supportive of impeachment because it “is so divisive to the country.”
“Unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path, because it divides the country. And he’s just not worth it,” she told the Washington Post.
