TRIMMMED: FedEx Corp. plans to offer buyouts to U.S. employees in an effort to cut costs. The world's second largest package delivery company will focus on employees in its Express and Services units.

WHERE THEY ARE: The Express unit is where FedEx got its start in 1971 and is still the company's biggest by far. The Services unit is FedEx's behind-the-scenes logistics division, but also includes FedEx Office, formerly Kinko's. Founded in 2000, it's one of the smallest divisions.

WHO AND HOW MANY: There are about 102,000 U.S. employees that work for FedEx Express and 13,000 at FedEx Services.
