A Navy Reserve intelligence officer from Dumfries has been sentenced to 80 years in prison for producing child pornography and sexually abusing a minor.

Lt. Cmdr. Scottie Lee Martinez, 38, pleaded guilty in federal court in Norfolk in July. He admitted to coercing two girls, ages 11 and 5, into sexual conduct to make child pornography in Virginia. He also admitted to engaging in abusive sexual contact with a girl between the ages of 7 and 9 while stationed in Iceland.

A search of his computer found thousands of pornographic images and videos of children, according to court documents. Some of the images appeared to be of Martinez having sex with young girls, the documents say.

Martinez tried to withdraw part of his guilty plea last year, but his motion was denied.
