A naked man armed with a rifle was shot by Baltimore County police officers, officials said.
About 3:40 a.m. Wednesday, police went to the Beltway Motel in the 3600 block of Washington Boulevard, after a 911 caller reported that a naked man was standing in a room and was using a rifle to fire shots toward the outside.
When police arrived at the motel, the man came out of his room, still armed with the rifle. Officers asked the suspect to drop the weapon, but he didn't do so and began to walk toward the officers.
The officers fired at the man, and he was struck multiple times. He was taken to a hospital and was in critical condition Wednesday morning, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.
The officers were to be placed on routine administrative leave.
