Another serial jewelry burglar might be on the loose in Northern Virginia.
Prince William County police are investigating the theft of more than $20,000 in jewelry from several homes in a Woodbridge neighborhood.
Police said the burglaries have occurred during the day, while the homeowners were at work. Jewelry appears to be the target of the break-ins, police said.
The incidents include:
- Jewelry valued at $250 taken during a break-in on the 11900 block of Oakwood Drive sometime between 10:30 p.m. Sunday and 10:15 p.m. Monday.
- Jewelry with a value of $4,000 taken during a break-in on the same block sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday.
- A burglary attempt at another home on the block between 5 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday. A deadbolt prevented the suspect from opening the door.
- About $17,000 of jewelry taken in a break-in on the 12300 block of Oakwood Drive between 7:15 a.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday.
