Authorities are looking for the man who robbed a bank in Silver Spring.

The Wachovia Bank located at 8701 Georgia Ave. was robbed shortly after 1 p.m. Friday, Montgomery County Police said.

Police said a man entered the bank, approached the teller and demanded cash. The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash. The robber then fled north on Georgia Avenue on foot, police said.

Police said the man did not use or imply he was carrying a weapon. No one was injured in the incident.

The robber is described as a black man in his 30s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds, police said. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a yellow short-sleeve shirt, a knit hat and glasses. Authorities said the suspect had cornrow-style braids and was unshaven.

Montgomery County Police and the FBI are investigating the robbery.
