The Martin Luther King holiday has long been celebrated by the NBA and college basketball as one of the premier regular season days. This year will be no exception as there will be plenty of outstanding hoops both in “the association” as well as on college campuses nationwide.

The Wizards will host the Jazz today at 1pm on CSN while at the same time over on ESPN the Bulls will face the Grizzlies. At 4pm on NBA TV it will be the Kings visiting the Hawks then things go over to TNT for a double header.

Things start off the Magic faces the Celtics at 8pm and the nightcap features the Lakers hosting the Thunder for a fun closer to a great day of NBA basketball.

On the college side there is Purdue at West Virginia get things going at 1pm on CBS College Sports.

Villanova will be at UConn at 3:30pm on ESPN. Next up at 5:30pm will be Kansas State at Missouri in a key Big 12 battle.

The biggest game thus far in the Big East has Syracuse going on the road to face Pitt at 7:30pm on ESPN and then it is back to the Big 12 where Kansas takes on Baylor closing out the night on the network.

Howard will host Norfolk State on ESPNU tonight at 9pm

There will be two women’s games CSN has a ACC battle at 7pm Georgia Tech visits Wake Forest and over on ESPN2 it will be UConn visiting North Carolina in a Big East – ACC showdown
