In the red-leaning state of Missouri, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are virtually tied.
In a new poll by the Remington Research Group, GOP nominee Trump leads Clinton 44 percent to 42 percent.
Also in the poll, Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson got 5 percent and Green Party nominee Jill Stein 2 percent.
Missouri has gone Republican in nine of the last 12 presidential elections, including the last four in a row.
Trump had been leading Clinton by a comfortable margin in most Missouri polls a few months ago, but a late July poll found Clinton ahead of Trump by 1 percentage point.
Recent national polls also show Clinton getting a significant bounce following the Democratic National Convention and has built a comfortable national lead over Trump.
The Remington Research Group poll was conducted Aug. 5-6 and surveyed 1,280 likely voters. The margin of error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
