A new round of loans totaling $2 million will be spread out among five small minority-owned businesses in Prince George’s County.

The recipients of the loans from the nonprofit Prince George’s Financial Services Corp., which caters to businesses facing challenges obtaining loans from traditional lenders, includes a day care center, an automotive specialty parts firm, a funeral service firm, a therapeutic center and a management services firm.

Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker was on hand at the Tuesday morning announcement of the loans, said his spokesman, Scott Peterson.

The nonprofit’s website says it has approved and closed about $52 million in loans to businesses in Prince George’s County over the years.
