Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell said Thursday that his week-long trip to Europe will likely bring new jobs and investments to the commonwealth.
“It has been exciting to meet with some of our large trading partners,” he told reporters on a conference call from Germany.
McDonnell has met with business officials in the Netherlands, Britain and Germany, and said he hopes to make several announcements in the next 60-90 days that are “good news” for Virginia companies.
Moves could bring between 30 and 300 new jobs and from $30 million to $150 million in investment to the state, he said.
The weeklong trip is costing taxpayers in the $80,000-$90,000 range, he said.
