A 15-year-old boy from Manassas has been charged with sexually assaulting a 9-year-old female family member, Prince William County police said.

Police said the assaults took place over several months at the girl's home in Manassas and at the boy's home in Prince William County.

The teenager, whose name was not released, has been charged with rape, aggravated sexual battery, object sexual penetration, production of child pornography and taking indecent liberties with a child.

He is in custody at the county's Juvenile Detention Center.
