A 20-year-old Alexandria man was killed in a Thursday night shooting in Silver Spring, according to Montgomery County police.

Joseph Love Kennedy Jr., was killed in a shooting at a home on the 2300 block of Darrow Street at about 7:40 p.m., police said in a statement. Kennedy suffered a gunshot wound to his head.

Police said a 21-year-old man was responsible for the shooting and remained at the scene. The man is cooperating with detectives, police said.
