A man was killed in a Bowie car crash involving a stolen vehicle Friday night, Maryland State Police said.
Police said Joseph M. Hein died after his Hyundai Accent struck a Cadillac SRX that was stopped without its lights in an eastbound lane of Route 50 near Route 301 at about 9:30 p.m.
The Cadillac SRX had been reported stolen to Prince George's County police and authorities don't know whether anyone was inside at the time of the crash. Police are questioning two people who were found walking near the crash site. They were not injured.
Hein was pronounced dead at a local hospital. His juvenile son, whose name was not released, is in critical condition at Children's National Medical Center.
