ANAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Annapolis police have arrested a man they say tried to kidnap a woman and her toddler at gunpoint.
Thirty-year-old William Ranaldo Brown of Annapolis is charged with attempted kidnapping and other offenses. He is being held on $200,000 bond.
Police say about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Brown approached a woman carrying groceries and her young daughter. Officers say he brandished a handgun and told the woman she was going with him.
The Capital of Annapolis reports (http://bit.ly/N7gayD) that the woman yelled for help and another woman came to her aid.
Police say Brown ran toward some apartments. Police found him shortly thereafter, and he was arrested without incident.
