BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — L'Auberge Casino Hotel Baton Rouge is preparing from Wednesday's opening.
Casino construction, which cost about $368 million, began in May 2010. A rally Sunday night kicked off a series of L'Auberge-sponsored media events leading up to the doors opening to gamblers at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
L'Auberge spokeswoman Kerry Andersen tells The Advocate (http://bit.ly/NWhQws ) company officials will be monitoring Tropical Storm Isaac in relation to the casino opening and make a determination at the appropriate time.
The facility is on 575 acres of land fronting the Mississippi River.
The 74,000-square-foot casino has nearly 1,500 slot machines and 50 table games. The resort includes a 12-story hotel with 205 guest rooms, four restaurants and a 13,000-square-foot conference facility.
