WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (AP) — The judges at the 27th annual New York Wine and Food Classic competition have awarded top honors to the 2011 Semi Dry Riesling from Dr. Konstantin Frank Vinifera Wine Cellars.

The 50-year-old winery in Hammondsport at the southern tip of Keuka Lake was also honored at Tuesday's competition as Winery of the Year. It won seven awards in all.

The Konstantin Frank Riesling was chosen from a field of 773 to win the Governor's Cup trophy, known as the "Oscar" of New York wine honors.

The awards were based on blind tastings from 23 expert judges who included wine writers, restaurateurs, retailers and educators.

Best Chardonnay went to Long Island's Paumanok Vineyards and best Cabernet Sauvignon went to Kings Garden Vineyards of Lodi in the Finger Lakes.
