American actress Kirstie Alley announced on Twitter late Friday she would support Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Shortly after her initial show of support, the Twittersphere reacted with some praising her endorsement of the Manhattan businessman while others attacked her for the choice and resorted to body-shaming the famous star from the 1980s TV show Cheers.

Alley was quick to respond, admitting she voted for President Obama, a Democrat.

Trump, a former reality TV star on NBC, has been endorsed by a number of Hollywood stars and entertainers, including Kid Rock, Ted Nugent and Gary Busey.
