FRANKLIN, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky Downs, the only track in the state so far to offer wagering on historic races replayed on slot-like machines, says it will reduce how much it takes from each bet and add more types of wagering during next month's meet.

The Courier-Journal (http://cjky.it/O5vmPu ) says the south-central Kentucky course is lowering takeout rates from 1 to 3 percent on all wagers, giving it what the track says are the lowest takeout on exactas in the country.

The takeout rate is the amount of money taken off the top of each dollar bet that goes toward purses, parimutuel taxes and the track's share.

The track is also adding two Pick Four wagers and a Pick Five wager.

Kentucky Downs previously announced that its total purse structure will increase by 242 percent in 2012.
