LONDON (AP) — Italy used a balanced attack, getting two goals from four players, to beat Kazakhstan 9-6 and lock up a spot in the quarterfinals of men's water polo at the London Olympics.

Pietro Figlioli, Valentino Gallo, Christian Presciutti and Danijel Premus each scored twice in the win for the 2011 world champion Italians.

The victory gives Italy five points from four matches and puts them through to the quarterfinals. Italy closes out the preliminary round Monday against Spain, which also has secured a place in the knockout stage.

Kazakhstan has lost all four of its matches in London and cannot qualify for the quarterfinals.
