GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) — Martin Engineering is opening a new sales and service center in Gillette.

The company is based in Illinois, and the service center will be its first in Wyoming.

Martin Engineering is the world's leading developer and manufacturer of engineered conveyor belt cleaning and conveyor belt scraping systems. The company has had a sales office in Gillette for about 20 years.

But it also does maintenance on conveyers.

Company consultant Jim Topless tells the Gillette News Record (http://bit.ly/RaDTW1 ) that the local demand for a service center has encouraged the company to open one up.

It also hopes to expand its customer base.

Its service will stretch into Montana and South Dakota, and south to the Laramie River.
