BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Woman's Hospital will close its location at Airline Highway and Goodwood Boulevard at 5 a.m. Sunday and open its new site at Airline and Stumberg Lane.
The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/MRjsvn) Woman's has been building a $293 million campus since 2008. The new facility is about five miles south of the existing hospital.
Spokeswoman Aimee Goforth said patients at the current location will be transferred Sunday, and the new hospital will begin accepting new patients at 5 a.m.
Woman's said most physician offices in the Physician Tower at the current campus will be moved to the new campus.
The hospital advised patients to contact their doctor to determine whether the doctor is moving to the new campus or locating elsewhere. The hospital has a list of physician relocation dates and a map of the hospital at www.womans.org.
In May, Woman's Hospital said it had reached an agreement to sell the current campus to the Physicians Alliance Corp., a private, mostly physician-owned organization based in Baton Rouge. The sale is expected to be completed after the move.
