2| Large House majority votes to repeal

The details: With 245 votes, including all Republicans, the House of Representatives backed a measure to repeal Obamacare completely. The measure has little chance of Senate passage, and less of getting a presidential signature, but it is the first shot in a protracted struggle to block the law’s implementation.

3| Massive mob raid

The details: A massive FBI raid involving 800 agents resulted in the arrests of 127 mafia leaders on charges of corruption, extortion, and murder. It was the largest mob sweep in FBI history.

4| Pill fights skin cancer

The details: British scientists have developed a pill, called RG7204, which shrinks melanoma tumors by 80 percent. The breakthrough could help treat the deadliest form of skin cancer.

5| Conservatives propose big spending cuts

The details:  Conservatives in the House Republican Study Committee proposed $2.5 trillion in spending cuts over the next ten years. Although their budget is unlikely to be adopted, the RSC measure proves that there is room for cuts beyond what House Republicans have promised so far.
