GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) — Mitt Romney is telling Coloradans still reeling from a movie theater shooting last month that "we love you and we pray for you. You're in our hearts and you're in our prayers."

During a visit to Colorado on Thursday, the Republican presidential candidate briefly mentioned the 2-week-old shooting that killed 12 and wounded 58. He spoke to hundreds of supporters and spent most of his speech bashing President Obama's economic record. Romney did introduce a victim wounded in the shooting.

A small group of gun control advocates rallied outside the campaign stop at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. Later, Romney headed to Basalt for an afternoon appearance with Republican governors.
