LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — The Smoke-Free Kentucky Coalition is touring the state on its way to western Kentucky for the Fancy Farm picnic on Saturday.

The group wants to get grass-roots support for passage of a comprehensive, statewide smoke-free law that would cover all indoor workplaces, including bars and restaurants.

The coalition wants to rally support before the 2013 legislative session starts in January, when it feels it would have a good shot at winning legislation.

The annual St. Jerome Catholic Church picnic at Fancy Farm takes place in the tiny town in far western Kentucky and is the traditional fall election kickoff in the state. The event is in its 132nd year.

The group is chronicling its trip across the state on its Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/smokefreeky .
