House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., called on Hillary Clinton Tuesday to visit the flood-ravaged areas of Louisiana, and complained that Clinton is instead "on day two of an 11-day fundraising blitz through Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Silicon Valley and the Hamptons."

Scalise also thanked GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump and President Obama for visiting the area. "Their presence contradicts Hillary Clinton's unbelievable claim that her presence would be a 'distraction' from our recovery," Scalise said.

Obama visited the flooded areas on Tuesday after fielding criticism for not coming sooner. Trump visited on Friday.

"I saw firsthand how Donald Trump's presence in Denham Springs and Central gave hope to many who are struggling, and now President Obama has followed Donald's lead by coming here," Scalise said. He said a visit by Clinton would be "the right thing to do."
