George Allen will officially announce Monday that he is running for the U.S. Senate in 2012. The former Virginia governor and U.S. Senator will try to win back the seat he narrowly lost to Democrat Jim Webb in 2006. On Sunday the website for Allen simply read "Stay Tuned." "Nobody was really clear on the timing, but he's been assembling staff for a while," a Republican official, who was not authorized to speak publicly about the Allen announcement, told The Washington Examiner.
