Fairfax County Police arrested a fugitive from Buffalo on child pornography charges after a routine truck-safety inspection near Annandale.

After stopping a hazardous materials truck for a routine inspection on July 7, authorities discovered that the driver, Dennis Orlinkowski, was a wanted fugitive from New York, police said Wednesday.

Police said an officer saw an oddly shaped bag in the truck, which contained two hard drives with hundreds of images of child pornography.

Orlinkowski, 51, has been charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography and being a fugitive from justice. He was wanted for failing to register as a sex offender. Orlinkowski is being held without bond at the Fairfax Adult Detention Center.
