A firefighter was injured when he fell through a floor while battling a blaze at a Landover townhouse early Saturday.
The firefighter, a 30-year-old volunteer from the Kentland station, fell through a hole in the house's first floor into the basement and suffered significant second-degree burns to his back, according to Prince George's County fire and emergency services.
The department said the firefighter, whose name was not released, is in good condition but remains in the hospital. No one else was hurt.
The blaze broke out at the home on the 9000 block of Continental Place at about 3:30 a.m. The house and the two adjacent townhomes were unoccupied and were being remodeled, according to fire officials.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
