Nigel Barker is turning the cameras away from the runway and onto the streets. The "America’s Next Top Model" judge will be in Washington on Saturday to help promote the Girl Up initiative sponsored by the United Nation’s Foundation. Barker has been an avid supporter since the campaign’s inception in September 2010 and will be on hand at the "pep rally" held at the Girls and Boys Club of Washington, D.C.
"As the father of a young daughter and son, I can attest to the undeniable power and spirit of today’s youth," Barker has said of the program. "The unique ‘for girls, by girls’ approach of the Girl Up campaign harnesses the enthusiasm of girls in this country to help ensure every girl – no matter where she is born – is educated, healthy, safe, counted and positioned to be a part of the next generation of leaders."
