A Fairfax County youth baseball coach accused of sexually abusing former players and apprehended in Poland last year has been extradited back to the United States, the U.S. Marshals Service said.

The Marshals Service said 39-year-old John E. Hamilton arrived in the United States on Thursday. He was caught while traveling by bus across the Poland-Czech Republic border in August.

Hamilton, of Centreville, is accused of molesting five former players between 1992 and 2008, according to Fairfax County police. He has been charged with aggravated sexual battery of a child, indecent liberties with a child and crimes against nature with a minor.

Police say Hamilton fled to Europe to avoid the U.S. charges. Authorities had been looking for him since he failed to appear for an October 2009 court date.

At the time of the alleged offenses, Hamilton was youth baseball coach with the Fort Hunt Youth Athletic Association.

After Hamilton fled, his case was featured on "America's Most Wanted" and he was wanted by Interpol.
