A little woopsie on the behalf of the Fraternal Order of Police had everyone thinking on  Tuesday that the 100 or so unionized  District building guards had joined corrections and youth services employees in endorsing D.C. Council Chairman Vince Gray for mayor.

The FOP sent out a statement on Tuesday incorrectly stating the building guards were behind Gray, says the head of the building security union Michael Wilhelm.

“We do not endorse any candidate at this time,” Wilhelm said Wednesday in an e-mail to The Washington Examiner. He added they may make an official announcement by week’s end.
