LONDON (AP) — An eastern Pennsylvania athlete was part of the U.S. cycling team that won a silver medal at the London Olympics.
Twenty-eight-year-old Lauren Tamayo of Barto teamed with Sarah Hammer and Dotsie Bausch to come in second in the women's 3-kilometer pursuit Saturday with a time of 3 minutes, 19.727 seconds.
The British women's pursuit track cycling team shattered its own world record for the second time in one day to beat the United States. Members Dani King, Laura Trott and Joanna Rowsell delivered the home nation its fourth track cycling gold in five events with a time of 3 minutes, 14.051 seconds.
