Donald Trump gave a rambling speech in South Carolina Tuesday during which he took direct aim at the Palmetto State's presidential candidate, Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham.
"He [Graham] doesn't seem like a very bright guy," Trump said. "He actually probably seems to me not as bright as Rick Perry. I think Rick Perry probably is smarter than Lindsey Graham. ... What do I know?"
After calling Graham an idiot, Trump read aloud a phone number he said belonged to the senator and encouraged the audience to give it a ring.
"Give it a shot," Trump said. "He won't fix anything but at least he'll talk to you."
Graham has not yet answered the Washington Examiner's phone call, but other news outlets are reporting that it is indeed Graham's number.
The Graham campaign has since sent out a statement to reporters that said Trump is ill-prepared to be commander-in-chief and added that, "The two people most excited about Donald Trump's candidacy are Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton."
