Fitness nuts take notice — on Feb. 1, Discovery Communications is moving its FitTV programming to its new network Discovery Fit & Health, a channel featuring everything that could go wrong — or right — with the human body.

The new network is a morphing of the old Discovery Health (real-life stories of health triumphs and traumas) and FitTV's fitness programming. The network, which will be available in 50 million homes, will "entertain viewers with gripping, real-life dramas featuring storytelling that chronicles the human experience from the cradle to the grave," the news release says.

Programming that will make the shift over to the new network includes Dr. G. Medical Examiner, I'm Pregnant And..., 911: The Bronx and Namaste Yoga. According to the release, FitTV's programming will air in the morning and the Discovery Health programming will take up the rest of the day.

Discovery Fit & Health also will acquire programming to fill out its schedule, which will feature a number of topical events including the Discovery Health franchises Baby Week, Psych Week, Adventures in Parenting, and New Year, New You.
