Shocking photos emerged Wednesday of destroyed cities in Italy, after a 6.2 magnitude earthquake hit the center of that country early in the morning.

CNN reported at least 73 people were killed, and said rescuers were struggling to reach remote villages to assist those affected, including those still buried in rubble. The mayor of Amatrice, located at the epicenter, said the town "is no more" and pleaded for help.
