DETROIT (AP) — More than 150 singers, musicians, dancers and others have performed "Ode to Joy" in downtown Detroit for a milestone performance of the Knight Foundation's Random Acts of Culture program.

The noon performance Friday in the lobby of Compuware Corp.'s headquarters celebrates the 1,000th event for the two-year-old effort to weave art and culture into everyday life. The nonprofit organization has worked with eight cities across the United States.

The eight-minute performance that includes members of the Detroit Children's Choir is one of the final performances of the program.
