A detention hearing for the Fairfax man accused of aiding the Somali terrorist group al-Shabaab has been postponed until Monday afternoon.
Zachary Adam Chesser, who was arrested Wednesday, waived his right to a preliminary hearing in U.S. District Court in Alexandria on Friday.
According to court documents, Chesser, who also goes by the name Abu Talhah Al-Amrikee, told federal agents that he twice tried to go to Somalia to join al-Shabaab as a fighter.
Chesser is also known for posting an online threat warning that the creators of the television show South Park risked death by mocking the prophet Muhammad on the show.
