Fourteen baseball and softball teams have come to the District to hit balls and steal bases at the first-ever RBI Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament that runs Wednesday through Saturday.
The teams, which hail from Pennsylvania to North Carolina, will play at Nationals Park and ballparks at colleges and recreation centers across the city. Sponsor KPMG is providing volunteer staffing and resources, with the Washington Nationals also sponsoring the tournament.
Tournament winners will advance to the RBI World Series in Jupiter, Fla., Aug. 4-8.
“Baseball is a game I played as a youth and it taught me lessons I still use in my professional and personal life,” said KPMG Managing Partner, Tim Gillis.
