A D.C. police officer was arrested for pulling out his service weapon after being thrown out of a bar in Connecticut, the New Haven Register reported.

Police said Danny McCullough III refused to finish his drink and leave at closing time early Sunday morning. One of the bouncers crushed his drinking cup, and McCullough picked up a glass bottle as if to strike the man, police said.

As he was being escorted from the Lager House bar, McCullough allegedly pulled out his weapon, a Glock 9mm, and pointed it at the ground, police said.

Authorities said a video surveillance tape appears to show McCullough racking the slide of the gun, an action that would put a round in the chamber.

McCullough was charged with with breach of peace, reckless endangerment, and resisting arrest.

D.C. police learned of the arrest Tuesday morning, and a spokesman said McCullough likely will be placed on administrative leave.
