Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz touted during his victory speech that his campaign raised over $2 million on Tuesday ahead of his victory in Wisconsin.
"Just how significant is tonight? Well just today, our campaign has raised over $2 million," Cruz boasted to supporters in Milwaukee.
"People all over going to TedCruz.org, TedCruz.org — TedCruz.org," the Texas senator said repeating the website name while cracking a smile. "Contributing $10 or $25 or $50. We've had over 1.3 million contributions."
In his speech to supporters, Cruz called his victory in Wisconsin a "turning point" and a "rallying cry" which marks a true choice in the race between him and rival Donald Trump, who continues to hold a commanding lead in the delegate count despite Tuesday's result.
The win gave Cruz his ninth state victory as he looks to play catch up with Trump.
