Tuesday’s Capital Land erroneously reported that 19-year-old Stanley Dawson, the teenager killed last week in Southeast D.C., was a ward of the Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services.

In 2007, Dawson was arrested and confined overnight, but he was never formally committed to DYRS custody.

There have been at least five DYRS wards killed since the beginning of the year; at least another nine that have been accused of murder.
