While the National Enquirer reported that John Edwards asked mistress Rielle Hunter for her hand in marriage, just weeks after Elizabeth Edwards passed away, People magazine is slamming that story. An unnamed Edwards family friend told the magazine that Hunter and Edwards weren't romantically involved. "The nature of the relationship, as far as I know, is one of a father calling the mother and talking about Quinn, figuring out the holiday schedule," the friend told People, referring to the girl born in 2008 to Hunter as the result of her affair with Edwards.
