Police are trying to determine who placed a card-skimming device intended to scan patrons' numbers on an ATM in Severna Park. Police said a woman using the automated teller machine at the Bank of America on the 600 block of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard saw the device, pried it from the machine and called police.
Anne Arundel County police say the skimmer was recovered before the suspect could obtain the device and customer data. Authorities believe no personal information was compromised.
Police say a person of interest has been identified through surveillance video, but he has not been identified. Anyone with information is asked to call the Anne Arundel financial crimes unit at 410-222-3433.
