Authorities are investigating a dead body found on tracks at the Farragut North Metro station Saturday afternoon.

D.C. fire and emergency services said the person was pronounced dead at the scene at about noon. Metro said it appeared that the man was struck by a train.

The station was closed starting at about noon then reopened shortly before 2 p.m.

Red Line trains passed through the station but did not stop. Shuttle buses were available between Dupont and Metro Center.

No other information about the deceased person was immediately available.
